(ANTIGONISH, NS) The UNB REDS are the 2025-2026 Atlantic University Sport women's hockey champions.
Alexandra Parvin's goal at 4:04 of overtime lifted the REDS to a 4-3 win over the STFX X-Women in the deciding game of the best of three conference championship series, Friday night in Antigonish.
Parvin took a feed in the slot from Katelyn Scott, behind the net, and rifled a shot past X goalie Brooklyn Oakes to win the game and the series.
Parvin was named the Boston Pizza Player of the Game.
The X-Women seized control of this game early, when Tea Pearce scored just 23 seconds after the opening faceoff.
The REDS were able to settle themselves, but trailed 1-0 after 20 minutes.
Hillary Wood drew the REDS even at 6:41 of the second period, beating Oakes with a wrist shot through traffic.
Just over a minute late, Scott stole the puck from an X defender at the blue line and skated into the right faceoff circle before lifting a shot over Oakes' shoulder to put the REDS up 2-1.
UNB's second period flurry continued at 13:37 when Rylee Strohm beat Oakes from the top of the slot.
The REDS led 3-1 after two periods.
