(FREDERICTON, NB) The U SPORTS No. 5 ranked UNB REDS dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to the No. 10 ranked St. Thomas Tommies in Atlantic University Sport women's hockey action, Friday night at Fredericton's Grant-Harvey Centre.
Payton Hargreaves scored both of UNB's goals, one in the second period and a powerplay goal in the third.
Jordan Chaulk's goal at 2:19 of overtime gave the Tommies the victory.
Tristyn Endicott and Kailey Wrigglesworth also scored for St. Thomas.
Cassie McCallum made 14 saves on 17 shots in the REDS net while Katie Sweeney stopped 24 of the 26 REDS shots she faced.
With the single point, the REDS remain tied for first place in the AUS standings.
The 17-4-1-1 (W-L-OTL-SOL) REDS are tied with the STFX X-Women with 36 points.
The Tommies are now 15-6-0-2 and sit third, four points back of the REDS and X-Women.
The REDS and Tommies wrap-up their home-and-home weekend on Saturday, this time on the REDS' home ice.
Game time, at UNB's Aitken Centre, is 7:00pm.
