(SACKVILLE, NB) Katelyn Scott's powerplay goal mid-way through the first period proved to be the winner as the UNB REDS shutout the Mount Allison Mounties 4-0 in Atlantic University Sport women's hockey action, Saturday night in Sackville.
Jorja Nystrom, also on the powerplay, Rylee Strohm and Mya Headrick scored in the second period as the REDS improved to 10-3-0-0 (W-L-OTL-SOL).
Scott and Nystrom both finished with a goal and an assist.
Olivia Eustace was 10-for-13 in the faceoff circle.
Taya Christie stopped all 24 shots she faced to earn the win. Skye McDonald, in the Mounties net, made 46 saves on 50 shots.
Mount Allison remains winless at 0-14-0-0.
Both teams return to action next Friday, and both are on the road.
The Mounties will be at Saint Mary's while the REDS visit Moncton. Both games are scheduled for 7:00pm faceoffs.
