(CHARLOTTETOWN, PE) The UNB REDS opened their 2025-2026 Atlantic University Sport women's hockey season with a 3-0 loss at UPEI on Saturday.
After a scoreless first period, the Panthers scored twice in a 25-second span in the second to break open a close game.
UPEI added their third goal in the final frame.
Cassie McCallum made 19 saves on 22 shots in the UNB net. Her Panthers counterpart, Erin Cabaday, stopped all 20 REDS shots she faced.
Olivia Eustace dominated the face-off circle, winning 13 of 15 draws.
The REDS are now preparing for their home opener, Friday night. They host the 2-0 Dalhousie Tigers. Game time is 7:00pm.
On Saturday, the REDS host Saint Mary's in a 3:00pm matinee.
