(FREDERICTON, NB) The UPEI Panthers scored twice in the third period to secure a 5-2 win over the UNB REDS in Atlantic University Sport men's hockey action, Friday evening, at UNB's Aitken Centre.
Donovan Arsenault led the Panthers with a pair of goals, including the eventual game-winner, and Jakob Robillard turned aside 34 of the 36 shots he faced in the UPEI net.
Cole Huckins and Cody Morgan scored for the REDS with Peter Reynolds assisting on both goals.
Simon Hughes registered a goal and two assists for the Panthers. Brent Bessette and Patrick LeBlanc also scored for the visitors.
Remi Delafontaine made 16 saves on 20 shots in the UNB net.
UNB's record falls to 11-7-1-0 (W-L-OTL-SOL) and are now in fifth place in the AUS standings.
UPEI improves to 12-8-0-0 and moves into a tie for third place.
The REDS are back in action on Saturday night when they visit Moncton for a 7:00pm face-off.
The Panthers see their next action next Friday when they visit Saint Mary's.
