Bisons Top REDS

(FREDERICTON, NB) The UNB REDS dropped a 71-60 decision to the Manitoba Bisons in their opening game of their REDS Invitational pre-season tournament, Friday night at UNB's Richard J. Currie Center.

Eden Otshudi, coming off the bench, scored a game-high 19 points to lead UNB while Marcus Barnes and Brandon Laryea had 13 and 12 respectively.

Daren Watts led the visitors with 14 points while Mason Kraus had a dozen.

The Bisons out-rebounded the REDS 43-29.

In the first game of the tournament, the Carleton Ravens downed the STFX X-Men 77-71.

In a close game, the Ravens outscored the X-Men 21-13 in the third quarter to provide their margin of victory.

Aubrey Dorey-Havens scored a game-high 27 points to lead the Ravens.

D.J. Jackson scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to pace the X-Men.

The REDS Invitational resumes Saturday at 3:00pm as the X-Men take on Manitoba. The REDS face the Ravens in a game scheduled to tip-off at 7:00pm.
