Hamilton Golden At UNB Open
(FREDERICTON, NB) The UNB REDS women’s wrestling team claimed the women’s team title at the UNB Open this past weekend.
UNB amassed 17 points, beating teams from the Montreal Wrestling Club and Prince Edward Island.
Two REDS women medalled.
Olivia Hamilton won gold in the 63-kilogram weight class and Julia Colborne won a bronze in the 59-kilo class.
“Olivia has become a leader on our women’s team,” said REDS’ head coach Don Ryan. “Winning medals at the Concordia and York meets earlier this season, and now here, we’re excited to see how she finishes the season at the U SPORTS Championships.”
The national university championships take place February 27th and 28th, at Lakehead University, in Thunder Bay.
