(FREDERICTON, NB) The UNB REDS scored early and again late to beat the visiting Saint Mary's Huskies 2-0, Friday evening in Atlantic University Sport women's soccer action.
In the ninth minute, Jillian Curtis lobbed a ball from about 30-yards out that eluded Huskies' keeper Tatyana Olsen.
In the 87th minute, Carolina Grzesniak capitalized on a disorganized Huskies side and fired a free kick into Saint Mary's net.
Breanna Habinski made two saves in the REDS net to earn the clean sheet.
With the win, the REDS are now 6-1-3 (W-L-T). Their 21 points is good for second in the AUS standings.
Saint Mary's is 4-4-2 and sit in sixth place.
UNB's next action is Sunday afternoon when they visit UPEI. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00pm. The Huskies host Moncton at the same time.
