Bellamy Named 2nd Team All-Star
(FREDERICTON, NB) Graduating 5th year midfielder Jesse Bellamy has been named to the 2021 Atlantic University Sport women’s soccer 2nd All-Star Team.
Bellamy, who started all 12 of UNB’s games, was second in team scoring, with two goals and three assists, and second in team shots on goal while providing some of the most reliable and consistent midfield defence in the AUS.
“We were counting on Jesse to be a key performer for us this season,” said REDS head coach Jon Crossland. “Whether it be winning a 50-50, making an important tackle, or creating or scoring goals, she left her mark on the field for our group.”
In Bellamy’s four seasons as a RED, the St. Catharines, Ontario, native played in 42 regular season games, scoring five goals and adding four assists.
“It is great recognition for her and we are proud that Jesse has been recognized,” said Crossland. “She’s been a top player for us since she arrived at UNB, and it is nice to have her performances recognized.”
Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree, Bellamy is due to graduate in the spring of 2022.
