REDS Advance To AUS Title Game
(FREDERICTON, NB) The host UNB REDS have booked a spot in Sunday afternoon's women's title game at the Bell Atlantic University Sport Curling Championships, being held at Fredericton's Capital Winter Club.
The REDS won their final round robin game on Saturday, beating Memorial 6-4 to finish 5-and-1.
The Jenna Campbell rink scored two in the seventh end and stole another in the eighth for the win.
They now await the winner of Sunday morning's semi-final between Saint Mary's and Memorial.
Both finished the round robin portion of the event with 4-and-2 records.
Along with advancing to the conference championship game, the REDS have qualified for one of two AUS berths in the U SPORTS Championships, February 17-21 in Regina. The winner of Sunday's semi-final will join them.
The semi-final between the Sea-Hawks and Huskies goes at 9:00am AST with the winner advancing to face the REDS in the final at 1:00pm.
