(HALIFAX, NS) The UNB REDS pushed their Atlantic University Sport women's basketball record to 17-2 with a 71-53 win over the Saint Mary's Huskies, Saturday afternoon in Halifax.
The U SPORTS No. 7 ranked REDS outscored the Huskies 23-10 in the fourth quarter after being held to just nine points in the third.
Katie Butts led the REDS with a double-double, scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
Kylee Speedy knocked down 13 points and dished out four assists, while Alyssa Jenkins and Zoe Olscamp came off the REDS bench to score 11 points and pull down 11 rebounds respectively.
Angong Jacob scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Huskies while Emily Dikdan scored 12 points and had 12 rebounds.
The Saint Mary's bench recorded just six points and two rebounds.
The REDS, now 9-and-1 in their last ten games, have already clinched first place and a first-round playoff bye.
The Huskies sit in fifth place with a 7-11 record.
UNB returns home for their final regular season game, next Saturday. They host the STFX X-Women in a 6:00pm tip-off.
The Huskies visit Memorial on Friday for a 5:30pm Atlantic start.
