Howse Leads REDS At U SPORTS Championships
(SHERBROOKE, QC) Jared Howse led the UNB REDS contingent at the U SPORTS Cross Country Championships, in Sherbrooke, Quebec, running to a 10th place finish on Saturday.
Howse, the top Atlantic University Sport finisher, completed the eight-kilometre course in a time of 24:46, about 30 seconds back of overall winner Philippe Morneau-Cartier, of Laval.
With his 10th place finish, Howse earned 2nd Team All-Canadian status.
UNB's William Boyle was 44th in the field of 100 while Liam Palmer ran 48th.
Caden Jones was 78th and Steph Snyman was 99th.
The UNB men finished 8th in the team standings, the top AUS team.
Nikolina Kapovic was the top UNB woman, finishing 28th in a time of 29:29.
Victoria's Madelyn Eybergen won the race.
The REDS' Sierra Rodrigues ran 35th in the field of 100 while Emily Doucet was 42nd.
Ivy Bialowas was 57th, Bridget Jeffrey finished 82nd, and Georgia Bernhard was 88th.
The UNB women placed 7th in the team standings.
