Wesmen Top REDS In Exhibition
(FREDERICTON, NB) The Winnipeg Wesmen scored a 3-0 win over the UNB REDS in exhibition men's volleyball action, on Friday, at UNB's Richard J. Currie Centre.
The Wesmen won with scores of 25-21, 25-19 and 25-21.
Nigel Nielsen (St. Andrews, MB) led the Wesmen statistically, registering 15 kills and nine digs, while Darian Picklyk (Birds Hill, MB) had eight digs and Paxton Koop (Steinbach, MB) had eight kills.
A young REDS side was led by veteran libero Scott Mann (Winnipeg, MB), who had six digs.
Newcomer Rafael Hilario (Rio de Janiero, Brazil) added eight kills. Nick Glynn (Fredericton, NB) had 19 assists.
The REDS and Wesmen will play twice on Saturday, at 10:45am and 7:00pm.
