The 2026-2027 season marks Oy's sixth season with the REDS where he coaches the jumps group and the multis and short sprints group, and serves as the team's associate head coach. He is also the head coach and technical director for the Saint John Track Club.

He is certified through the National Coaching Certification Program as a Competition Development and Performance Coach, and in 2025 served as an event coach with Team New Brunswick and the Canada Summer Games.

As a student-athlete at the University of Manitoba, Oy earned three U SPORTS silver medals. In 2018 and 2019, in the men's high jump, and in 2020, in the men't triple jump.

In 2026 he was named Atlantic University Sport's Men's Track & Field Volunteer Coach of the Year.
