REDS Wrap U SPORTS With Bronze Medal
(WINNIPEG, MB) The UNB REDS wrapped up the 2026 U SPORTS Track & Field Championships Sunday with another medal.
Silas Conlin-Morse took the bronze medal in the men’s 1500 metres.
Conlin-Morse covered the distance in 3:49.79, finishing less than 2/10ths of a second back of the silver medallist. Teammate Jared Howse ran 6th, finishing just over a second back of Conlin-Morse.
On Saturday, Conlin-Morse ran the anchor leg as UNB won the gold medal in the men’s 4-by-800-metre relay.
The REDS’ men’s 4-by-400-metre relay team ran to a 10th place finish on Sunday while Oliver Arnfast finished 12th in the men’s heptathlon.
Haley Angus leapt to a fourth-place finish in the women’s triple jump, just nine centimetres off the medal podium, and Hannah Barnhard finished 10th in the women’s high jump.
In the team standings, the UNB men were the top Atlantic University Sport team, finishing in a tie (with Queen’s) for 12th, with 20 points. The UNB women finished 16th, with 13 points.
The Western Mustangs won the overall men’s title while the Guelph Gryphons won the women’s crown.
