Kingston Wins Again For REDS
(FREDERICTON, NB) The second meet of the 2025-2026 Atlantic University Sport swimming season wrapped up Sunday with the UNB REDS claiming second place in the men's team standings.
The REDS, finished behind the meet's hosts, the Dalhousie Tigers, and ahead of Mount Allison and Memorial.
The REDS women were fourth in the women's team standings.
Individually on Sunday, Blake Kingston won the men's 200-metre breaststroke, beating the second place swimmer by more than four seconds.
In the men's 100-metre backstroke, first-year RED Nolan Oma swam to a second place finish, touching the wall just 7/10ths of a second ahead of third place.
In the men's 50-metre backstroke, UNB's Will Franklin was fourth, finishing a mere 3/10ths of a second behind third place.
Another first-year RED, Maria McDougall, continued to impress on the women's side. She took second place in the 100-metre backstroke, finishing between two veteran Dal swimmers.
In the final event of the meet, the 4-by-100-metre mixed medley relay, UNB finished fourth, half a second behind third place.
Dalhousie will host the next meet on the AUS schedule as well. The annual Kemp-Fry Invitational takes place November 28th through 30th.
