Barry Morrison enters his seventh season as head coach of the REDS in 2026, his 19^th season as a professional coach.

Named the Atlantic University Sport men’s soccer Coach of the Year in 2022, Morrison led the REDS to a 7-4-1 record in 2025, good for fourth place in the tightly contested AUS standings.

Hired in May of 2020, Morrison’s first season as head coach of the REDS was lost to the pandemic.

Prior to taking over as head coach, Morrison served seven years as an assistant with the REDS.

Along with serving as UNB’s head coach, Morrison is the Director of Soccer for the Fredericton District Soccer Association, an organization he’s spent more than a decade serving.

Morrison began his coaching career in 1999, quickly progressing through the FDSA ranks.

On two occasions, in 2005 and again in 2007, he served as an assistant with UNB’s women’s soccer team.

He took over the FDSA’s head coaching job in March of 2012 and joined the REDS’ staff in 2013.

He’s qualified as a National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Master Learning Facilitator and a Chartered Professional Coach. Morrison is a National Coaching Institute graduate with a diploma in Coaching High-Performance Sport and has worked almost two decades as a full-time coach and coach educator.

Barry is married and lives in Devon. His wife, Meghan, is a rugby coach and NCCP Learning Facilitator.
