(ANTIGONISH, NS) The U SPORTS No. 4 ranked UNB REDS dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to the STFX X-Men in Atlantic University Sport men's hockey action, Friday night in Antigonish.
After a scoreless first period, the X-Men got a pair of second period goals from Lucas Canning to take a 2-0 lead after 40 minutes.
With time winding down in the third, the REDS tied the game with two goals of their own in the final three minutes.
At the 17:23 mark of the third, Mike Petizian tipped a Cody Morgan shot past X-Men goalie Patrick Leaver to make it a 2-1 game.
Then, with just 3/10ths of a second left on the clock, Petizian banked the puck off a defender and past Leaver to tie the game.
