(FREDERICTON, NB) Friday's Atlantic University Sport men's hockey exhibition game between the UNB REDS and Moncton Aigles Bleus was ended after two periods after a fire alarm inside UNB's Aitken Centre.
The alarm sounded while the teams were in their dressing rooms after 40 minutes of play.
With safety of fans, student-athletes, officials, and game and arena staff top of mind, the decision was made to end the game and clear the building.
The game ended with the home team leading 3-1 on goals by Cody Morgan, Mike Petizian, and Jax Dubois.
Morgan added an assist for a two-point night while Remi Delafontaine stopped 11 of the 12 shots he faced over two periods.
Philippe Collette scored Moncton's lone goal while Nathan Darveau was peppered with 20 UNB shots.
