Colton Kammerer, of the men’s hockey team, is the UNB REDS/Monks & Jonesie male Athlete of the Week.
Kammerer played in two of UNB’s three games recording an assist as the REDS won the bronze medal at the U SPORTS Men’s Hockey Championship, in Halifax.
Prior to the national championship tournament, the veteran defenceman and team captain had been nursing a shoulder injury but vowed to do whatever it took to participate.
“What Colton did this past weekend, not only for our team but for UNB was incredible,” said REDS’ head coach Rob Hennigar. “His effort and sacrifice for our program will be remembered for years. He’s a true warrior and an inspiration.”
